JOB DESCRIPTION
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for HR and Payroll products, making sure they align with the client’s business goals and annual investment plan;
- Act as the main product counterpart for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships and shaping new initiatives that grow the partnership;
- Lead product discovery for the ASEAN expansion, including market research, competitor analysis, and assessment of payroll, tax, social insurance, and labor regulations in each target country;
- Define and localize core HR and Payroll capabilities such as employee records, time and attendance, leave management, payroll calculation, statutory deductions, payslips, and reporting across multiple countries and currencies;
- Translate business needs into a well prioritized product backlog with clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria;
- Work closely with Business Analysts, UX designers, engineers, and QA to plan releases, lead sprint ceremonies, and make timely decisions on scope and priorities;
- Prepare business cases, product proposals, and roadmap presentations that support client budget planning and investment decisions;
- Define product KPIs, monitor adoption and outcomes after each release, and use data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement;
- Ensure products meet data privacy and compliance requirements in every market, such as Vietnam’s Personal Data Protection Law, Singapore PDPA, and Thailand PDPA;
- Coach Business Analysts and junior Product Owners, and contribute to GEM’s product management practices and presales activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Finance, or a related field;
- At least 7 years of experience in product management, product ownership, or business analysis, including a minimum of 3 years as a Product Owner or Product Manager;
- Deep domain knowledge of HR and Payroll, with hands on experience delivering HRIS, HCM, or Payroll products, including payroll rules, personal income tax, social insurance, and labor law requirements;
- Proven track record of taking products from concept to launch and continuing to grow them after go live;
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English, with the confidence to present to senior client stakeholders and executives;
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance business value, budget, and delivery capacity;
- Solid experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and a clear understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC);
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to use data to support product decisions;
- Proactive, well organized, and comfortable taking ownership of outcomes while working directly with clients in a dynamic environment.
