KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Digital Content Creation: Design engaging, digital-first visual content for various channels.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all design outputs align with GEM’s brand guidelines and identity. Maintain a cohesive look and feel across social media, marketing materials.
  • Collaboration & Concept Development: Work closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams to brainstorm ideas and develop visual concepts.
  • Use of Modern Design Tools: Utilize industry-standard design software in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), as well as collaborative tools like Figma and Canva, to produce and iterate on designs.
  • Content for Campaigns: Assist in designing visuals for a variety of campaigns, ranging from social media, sales materials to website and email newsletters.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Current senior student or recent graduate in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or a related field. An equivalent portfolio of work can also demonstrate your qualifications.
  • Design Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator; familiarity with After Effects/Premiere for motion graphics is a plus). Experience with design collaboration tools like Figma for interface design and Canva for quick content creation.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with digital design tools and quick to learn new software. Exposure to or interest in AI-powered design tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, MidJourney, Runway) is an advantage.
  • Creative Abilities: Strong understanding of basic design principles – layout, typography, color theory – and a creative flair for visual storytelling. Able to conceptualize original graphics that align with a given brief and target audience.
  • Social Media Savvy: Knowledge of social media platforms and their visual styles. A social-first mindset with awareness of what content engages users on these platforms.
  • Attention to Detail: Careful eye for consistency and quality, ensuring final outputs are polished and error-free. Ability to follow brand guidelines and also know when to push creative boundaries appropriately.
  • Team & Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to take feedback and iterate designs. You’ll be collaborating with various teams, so being responsive and proactive is key.
